Activated Carbon filters with automatic backwashing. The fiver glass bottle reinforced with polyester resin contains an activated carbon bed held by a quartz sand layer. A timer controls its internal washing. The carbon used in this application is of vegetal type (coconut), specially designed for water treatment like filtration (physics), reduction (chemist) and adsorption (physics- chemist).

The control valve works in three different cycles (backwashing, clearing and service) and it is equipped with a temporiser in order to set the exact time when it is desired to make the backwashing. This equipment could be controlled by a computer program (Programmable 24 hours/day, 7 days per week)

The maximum flow speed of the filter will depend on the contact period between the water and the activated carbon. If the carbon quantity remains constant them high flow speed correspond with low contact period, and low flow speed corresponds with high contact period.

The maximum flow speed is determined by a minimum contact period of 2 minutes, which is the necessary time for most of the application where these kinds of filters are used. In some cases it could be necessary higher or lower contact periods, for those special applications Peter Taboada counts with different kids of activated carbon depending on the substances that want to be eliminated, this way we can achieve the desirable adsorption, filtration and catalysis.

These filters correct acid pH avoiding the corrosion of the pipes. And also avoid contaminants that give bad smell and taste to the water.

Inside the fibreglass bottle (reinforced with polyester) there are several layers of sand and pH raiser material with grains of different sizes that work as mineralisers. The backwashing is made just pushing a button (optional controlled automatically by a timer with a programmer). The water that comes from the washing, which has all the retained materials, is sent to the drainage.

AUTOMATIC FILTERS WITHOUT SELF CLEANING
Mineraliser filters with pH raiser power. Inside the fibreglass bottle (reinforced with polyester) there are several layers of sand and pH raiser material with grains of different sizes that work as mineralizers.

These filters correct acid pH avoiding the corrosion of the pipes. And also avoid contaminants that give bad smell and taste to the water.

The flow speed in Deferrizer filters is three times lower than the sand filters. It means that the water is in contact with the material longer.

There is an electronic programmer that allows making the cleaning depending on the volume of the treated water, working time or simply pushing a button.

Besides this it is possible to modify the self-cleaning, adjusting the contact period in every cycle.
