Our history

From our beginnings in 1979, we are specialized in the design and manufacture of water treatment and purification systems for different sectors: marine, industrial, food, health, pharmaceutical, hotels, residential. Over the years we have experienced steady growth and have positioned ourselves as one of the leading manufacturers in the market, with a presence in more than 60 countries.

We maintain a business strategy oriented towards research, innovation and development of new products to satisfy the needs detected in the market. The protection of our strong investment in R+D+i is achieved through Industrial Property Titles, allowing us to commercialize products exclusively or transfer technological knowledge.

1979

Jesús Taboada Presedo, ‘Peter’, founds PETER TABOADA selling freshwater generators.

1986

PETER TABOADA patented the PETION and the first units were manufactured and sold.

1988

The company moves to the García Barbón facilities in Vigo and exports begin.

1994

The first reverse osmosis desalination plant is manufactured.

1997

The R&D&i department is created.

2000

The company is certified ISO 9001 and PETER TABOADA becomes a supplier of the Spanish Navy.

Due to the growth in sales, the company moves to new facilities in Redondela.

2002

The Galicia Award for Business Innovation is received.

2003-2010

Different equipment is patented, such as PETFROST, PETDIESEL and TW-H (ultrapure water for hemodialysis) and important projects are developed, such as the S80 series of submarines for the Spanish Navy or the Thermosolar Plants in Palma del Río.

All of this has led to a greater professionalization of the company's structure and a significant increase in turnover, with exports reaching 65%.

2015-2016

Turning point in which the manufacture of large custom-made plants becomes an everyday occurrence. The first contract for MSC cruises is signed and the, at that time, the largest desalination plant in the world installed on a ship is manufactured (5,000m3/day on the Live Fish Carrier Intercaledonia).

2023

The record for the largest desalination plant installed on a vessel is broken again: 15,000m3 per day for another Live Fish Carrier.

Petion

System to prevent the corrosion and antibiological growth in sea water circuits (MGPS).

This patent protects the pipes and circuits through which sea water flows thanks to electrolyte technology with copper and aluminum electrodes in an insulated tank.The copper protects against the growth of mollusks and seaweed. The aluminum protects against corrosion.

Petfrost

System to produce germicidal water for use in food production.

This patent is designed for the production of sterile and germicidal water in food applications. By use of a triple reactor we achieve the “integration” of ozone in the water and, in this way, enable that the water itself is germicidal and it eliminates the bacteria in the treated food via a shower.

Petsea RO

PETSEA RO TW-H. System to produce ultrapure water by hemodialysis application.

This patent allows you to obtain ultrapure water of <0,07ppm, while avoiding bacteriological contamination thanks to its in-line design.The ultrapure water is continually moving and is never stored to avoid contamination.

Petdiesel

System to control water quality in diesel engine cooling.

This patent controls water quality in the cooling system of large marine engines and so manages to prevent breakdowns. The machine controls the conductivity, temperature, pH, turbidity and oily water.
