FAT tests successfully completed for the equipment that Peter Taboada will supply for the new vessel being built by the Puerto Real shipyard for the Spanish Navy.
This new Underwater Intervention Maritime Action Ship (BAM-IS) will represent a true revolution in submarine rescue operations for the Navy, becoming the most modern and innovative vessel of its kind ever built in Spain. Although its main mission will be the salvage and rescue of submarines, the BAM-IS will also be extremely useful to military divers for conducting underwater intervention operations. In addition, the ship will be equipped to detect explosive devices.
The new BAM-IS will also be tasked with protecting Spain’s underwater heritage, using two underwater robots equipped with integrated cameras. The ship will include a side-scan sonar, two underwater telephones, and two hyperbaric chambers, as well as having its own helipad.
This modern military vessel is also equipped with the most advanced systems for water filtration, desalination, and treatment, designed and manufactured once again by Peter Taboada, a trusted partner of Navantia.
